Sustainable Materials
CraftMaster molded door designs, used to make CraftMaster Green Doors, are made from wood that is of no commercial timber value and is the byproduct of other operations, not old growth timber.
Wood Sources
Recycled Content
 |
Hollow core CraftMaster Green Doors contain a minimum of 23% pre-consumer recycled wood content. |
 |
Solid core CraftMaster Green Doors contain a minimum of 48% pre-consumer recycled wood content. |
 |
CraftMaster molded door designs, used to make CraftMaster Green Doors, contain a minimum of 25% pre-consumer recycled wood content. |
No Added Urea Formaldehyde
 |
CraftMaster molded door designs have no added urea formaldehyde. This is certified by Scientific Certification Systems, certificate number SCS-MC-01802. |
 |
CraftMaster molded door designs (facings) comply with the California Air Resources Board's (CARB) Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) 93120 Phase 2 formaldehyde emission limits for composite wood as certified by the Composite Panel Association (CPA), a third party certifier (TPC-1). CraftMaster molded door designs have demonstrated formaldehyde emissions equivalent to background levels found in the environment. |
Low VOC Primer and Adhesives
 |
CraftMaster products are primed with a low VOC primer. This primer is among the most environmentally preferable of all coatings available. |
 |
The adhesives used in CraftMaster Green Doors have ultra low VOC emissions. |

Recycled Content |
MR 4 |
Use materials, including furniture and furnishings,
with recycled content such that the sum of post-consumer recycled content plus 1/2 of
the pre-consumer content constitutes at least 10% or 20% based on the total value of
the materials in the project. The minimum percentage materials recycled for each point
threshold is as follows: 1 point for 10% recycled content and 2 points for 20% recycled
content. |
Regional Materials1 |
MR 5 |
Option 1 (1 Point): Use a minimum of 20% of the combined value of
construction and Division 12 (furniture) materials and products that are manufactured regionally
within a radius of 500 miles.
Option 2 (2 Points): Meet the requirements of Option 1 and use a minimum of 10% of the combined
value of construction and Division 12 (furniture) materials and products extracted, harvested or recovered,
as well as manufactured, within 500 miles of the project.

Low-Emitting Materials – Composite Wood and Agrifiber Products |
IEQ 4.4 |
Composite wood and agrifiber products used on the interior of the building (i.e. inside the weatherproofing system) must contain no added urea formaldehyde resins. |

Recycled Content |
MR 4 |
Use materials with recycled content such that the sum of post-consumer recycled
content plus 1/2 of the pre-consumer content constitutes at least 10% or 20%, based on cost, of the total value
of the materials in the project. The minimum percentage materials recycled for each point threshold is as follows:
1 point for 10% recycled content and 2 points for 20% recycled content. |
Regional Materials1 |
MR 5 |
Use building materials or products that have been extracted, harvested or recovered,
as well as manufactured, within 500 miles of the project site for a minimum of 10% or 20%, based on cost, of the
total materials value. If only a fraction of a product or material is extracted, harvested, or recovered and
manufactured locally, then only that percentage (by weight) can contribute to the regional value. The minimum
percentage regional materials for each point threshold is as follows: 1 point for 10% regional materials and 2
points for 20% regional materials.

Environmentally Preferable Products |
MR 2.2 |
Use building component materials that meet the following criteria:
a) Environmentally preferable products meet the specifications listed in Table 24
of LEED for Homes Rating System, includes: for doors (not including garage or
insulated doors) contain recycled content, are FSC-certified or reclaimed
AND/OR
b) Local production1 - use products that were extracted, processed, and
manufactured within 500 miles of the home. |

Recycled Content Building Materials |
604.1 (1) |
Building materials with recycled content are used. A minimum of two recycled content
products are used for minor elements of the building, such as all trim, cabinetry,
plumbing, ductwork, doors, etc. |
Resource-Efficient Materials |
607.1 (2) |
Products used contain fewer materials to meet the same end-use requirements as
conventional production, including but not limited to engineered wood or engineered
steel products. |
No Added Urea Formaldehyde |
901.4 (d) |
85% of countertops, permanent shelving, and other nonstructural products manufactured
in accordance with the following: composite wood or agrifiber panel products contain
no added urea formaldehyde. |
